Discharge ink is premium, water-based ink that removes the original dye (color) from a garment, and replaces it with a color (pigment). we use on our black and dark colored clothing.
The discharge ink that we use is a Non-Formaldehyde ink that is made without the addition of formaldehyde or formaldehyde products. This Special ink is rarely used for printing clothing because of the premium price of this ink. Discharge ink and pigments can cost 3X to 6X more than what Plastisol ink cost. Although this premium ink is more expensive, we feel the final outcome is well worth it. We us a special water-based Super White ink throughout our Liberty or Bones series, which is bright white discharge ink, with a really soft feel. Like our other water-based prints, you can iron clothing printed with our discharge ink. In our BrooklyNYC Liberty or Bones Series, we only use Super-White discharge ink, but we will release many designs in the future that incorporate various colored discharge inks. One person has commented on this article.
